U9B Mississauga Hurricanes - Stepping Up for the Community
By Coach Bobby Floujeh

In hockey, an assist is just as important as scoring the goal. It means you saw an opportunity, made the extra effort, and helped your teammate succeed. When the U11B team set a goal to collect winter clothing for families in need, our U9B Hurricanes didn’t hesitate. They laced up, leaned in, and delivered a powerful assist.

They filled bags with jackets, boots, snow pants, sweaters, and warm clothing. They didn’t just hit the target. They exceeded it.

These girls are learning that being a Hurricane means more than skating fast or making a good pass. It means understanding that leadership can happen anywhere. On the ice, in their schools, in their community.

They are learning that compassion is a skill. That helping others builds character. That sometimes the biggest wins don’t happen on the scoreboard, but in the hearts of others.

This is more than hockey. This is teamwork, empathy, responsibility, and community leadership.

These young athletes are not just being coached to play. They are being coached to become. Proud of these girls. Proud of the assist. Proud of the hearts behind the jersey.
