The Mississauga Jr. team has been a member of the PWHL since it's inception in 2004. The Jr. Hurricanes have finished third or better in the PWHL seven times, including two 1st place seasons in 2010 and 2011. They have medaled nine times at the OWHA Provincial Championships, capturing gold in 2009, 2011, and 2014. The Jr. Hurricanes are still in the hunt for their first Alumni Cup but have appeared at the PWHL Final Four Weekend eight times, most recently capturing Bronze in 2017.

Head Coach


The Jr. Hurricanes Head Coach is Darcy Breakey, a seasoned elite performance hockey coach who has experience coaching at the Junior and OWHA level. In her 10-year career, Coach Darcy has been named the Guelph Girls Hockey Association (GGHA) REP Coach of the Year, coached twice in the Ontario Summer Games (2016, 2018), and been named an assistant coach for the 2020 U18 National Championships and 2019 U16 Friendly Series in Japan.

Prior to joining the MGHL, Darcy led the Oakville Jr. Hornets to a PWHL silver medal, an OWHA provincial silver medal, and third-place overall in the PWHL regular-season standings. During her tenure as a head coach within the GGHA, she led the Jr. Gryphons Midget A team to a LLFHL Gold, OWHA Provincial Silver, and an overall record of 49-8-9.

Darcy is involved with OWHA high-performance hockey, regularly contributing her time as an assistant and head coach. She 
holds a degree in International Development Studies from the University of Guelph, as well as a Bachelor of Education. Darcy is an HP1 certified coach and a high school teacher in the Halton District School Board.
