Personal Statement: Hockey is the biggest contributor to the determination, resilience, and hard working mindset that I apply to every aspect of my life. Direction from my coaches and mentors, good or bad, motivates me. My mentors inspire me to improve myself and help fuel my urge to succeed. I am an extremely committed athlete and student who has excellent time management skills and will persevere when things get hard. I set goals and push myself to accomplish them, which causes me to excel in whatever I do. This can be seen on my school report card and by the goals and assists I earn when I am on the ice. I have an extremely positive mentality and lead those around me by example from constant hard work on the ice and in the gym. I always focus on what I can do next, instead of thinking about the past and I encourage my teammates to do the same.
