The Mississauga Girls Hockey League is thrilled to announce the return of the First Shift program for the 2025-26 season!
After last running in 2021-22, we’re excited to once again welcome new-to-hockey players to the ice with this fun, affordable, and beginner-friendly experience.
Designed for girls aged 6–10 who are brand new to the game (never previously enrolled in minor hockey), the NHL/NHLPA First Shift program makes getting started in hockey easy and fun. For just $299, participants receive head-to-toe Bauer equipment, expertly fitted at our Welcome Event, and six weekly on-ice sessions focused on skating, skill development, and most of all - having a blast!
Our upcoming First Shift program will be hosted at Iceland Arena (705 Matheson Blvd E, Mississauga, ON L4Z 3X9). The program kicks off with our Welcome Event and Equipment Fitting on January 11, 2026 at 5:00 PM on the second floor of Iceland Arena. On-ice sessions will run weekly on Saturdays at 5:15 PM from January 17 through February 21, 2026 on Rink 1.
