Over the March 22 - 24 weekend, our U13DS Richardson and U18A Macintosh/Sommerville teams competed hard in their respective Toronto and Hamilton Tournaments.
Our U13DS Richardson Team unleashed a storm on the ice in the Toronto Leaside March Matchup Tournament. Our Hurricanes battled hard through six straight wins, demonstrating unparalleled determination and skill, clinching victory with a remarkable 25 goals for and only TWO goals against the entire tournament, including an impressive 4 shutouts achieved (2 by each goaltender!) During round robin play, neither the Ancaster Avalanche (2-0), Leaside Wildcats Black (7-1), Clarington Flames (4-1) nor the Kingston Ice Wolves (8-0) could quell this U13DS storm. Heading into the semi-finals, our Hurricanes continued their relentless pursuit for the championship, overcoming the Leaside Wildcats Red in another shutout, 3-0. Our Mississauga Hurricanes were ready for more, facing the Leaside Wildcats Black team for a second time during the final showdown, where our U13DS Richardson Team triumphed in their fourth shutout of the tournament, 1-0, securing that gorgeous GOLD medal victory!

Way To Go U13DS Hurricanes!
That same March 22 - 24 weekend saw our U18A Macintosh/Sommerville Team at the Hamilton Girls Hawkey Tournament. Our competitive Mississauga Hurricanes swept through the round robin undefeated, with a 2-0-1 record, including a 4-0 shutout versus the St. Catharines Brock Jr. Badgers. In the semi-finals, the Grand River Mustangs also could not stomp down our Hurricanes, who continued to ice out the competition in another 1-0 shutout victory. Facing off against tournament host team, the Hamilton Hawks, our U18A Macintosh/Sommerville Team exhibited that powerful Hurricanes FORCE to clinch the GOLD medal with a final 3-0 shutout in the championship game!
Congratulations to Chelsea L. for an impressive three shutouts this tournament, and to the entire team for a phenomenal display of effort, apparent throughout the entire tournament. The coaching staff are very proud of the team’s performance during this exciting weekend!
