Over the February 2-4th and 9-11th weekends, our U13A, U15A and U18A Hurricanes swept through the tournament circuit in Ottawa and Buffalo.
The U13A Dalzell team traveled to Ottawa over the February 2nd - 4th weekend for the "Paint It Purple for DIFD” Nepean Girls Hockey Tournament. After going 2-1-0 in round robin play, they faced a tough Markham-Stouffville Stars team in the semi finals. The girls battled every shift, played a strong team game, and with solid goaltending on the back end, won themselves a berth to the final with a score of 3-1. In the championship game, the Kanata Rangers proved to be an equal match for our Hurricanes, keeping the excitement high throughout the game. In the second period, Elisa B. sniped a shot to put the Hurricanes ahead 1-0. Timely saves and an empty net goal at the end sealed the deal for our Hurricanes to take the championship GOLD Medal home!

Heading across the border to Buffalo, New York, our U15A Allen team brought a Hurricane FORCE through the Buffalo Winter Classic Tournament from February 2nd - 4th. Our ‘Canes went 2-0-1 in round robin play, finishing undefeated, and first in points in their pool of four, including a 3-0 shutout versus the Orangeville Tigers! Playing two games at the RiverWorks, an outdoor rink in downtown Buffalo, our Hurricanes battled hard all weekend, and even managed some off-ice team bonding at an escape room during the lengthy between game breaks. Heading into the championship game against the Buffalo Regals, our U15A Mississauga Hurricanes kept their focus and resolve throughout the game, securing a 1-0 GOLD Medal win!
Winning a tournament was one of the goals for the team this season, so kudos to all coaches and players for making this a reality!

This past weekend, our U18A Summers Team also made the trip to New York for the Buffalo River Outdoor Classic Tournament; the highlight of the trip being the rare opportunity to play each match at the outdoor RiverWorks rink against a unique industrial backdrop- a new and exciting experience for most athletes on the team. Playing some challenging matches in the U19 division against a variety of quality teams, our Hurricanes achieved an overall round robin record of 1-1-1, and were ready to blast into the championships. Taking on the U19AA Northern Michigan K-Stars, our U18A ‘Canes gave it their all on the outdoor ice to solidify a 2-0 win for that gorgeous GOLD!
Congratulations to our players, goalies, and coaching staff for an exciting end of season tournament as U18A Summers heads into Playoffs and Playdowns. A final thanks to our parents and families for their support and good fun!
