This past weekend the MGHL hosted our 43rd annual Winter Classic Tournament and we welcomed 63 talented teams across ten divisions for 142 exciting games!
Our MGHL Hurricanes played hard against our participating opponents and we want to congratulate our U18A Buzziol team for their performance during the tournament! After finishing 2-2-0 in the round robin, including two shutouts versus the Grandriver Mustangs (1-0) and the Southpoint Stars (2-0), the team advanced to the semi finals on Sunday. Our Hurricanes were ready to face the formidable Kitchener Lady Rangers, overtaking them in a fantastic 1-0 overtime victory and solidifying their spot in the championships. Despite a hard fought game, the girls lost 1-0 to the Waterloo Ravens in the finals. Well done, Hurricanes, for continuing to push forward to secure that stunning SILVER!
