Jr. Hurricanes Captain Wins Gold With Team Canada!
A huge congratulations to Jr. Hurricanes captain Rhea Hicks who competed for Team Canada at the IIHF U18 World Championship in Madison, Wisconsin. Canada defeated the USA 3-2 to win gold.
Hicks made her mark with 2 goals and 1 assist in the tournament. She was also awarded player of the game in Canada's preliminary win against Sweden where she had the game winning goal.
"We are so proud of Rhea and all that she has accomplished. She has battled through injuries and adversity but now can call herself world champion." said Jr. Hurricanes head coach Darcy Breakey. Hicks will be heading to Syracuse in the fall to play division I hockey for the Orange.
