The OWHA has sanctioned spring tryouts for all Rep divisions, including U9 and U11, for this upcoming 2023-24 hockey season!
This represents a change from previous seasons, where U9 and U11 tryouts typically followed all other divisions and occurred in the fall. Pathway guidelines set out by the OWHA for these divisions will continue to be observed.
Tryouts for all divisions are expected to commence in mid April 2023 and run through to the end of May 2023; more details on the specific RAMP packages, dates, and times for each division will follow in the coming weeks.
Some points to keep in mind as we approach spring tryouts:
- Internal evaluation practices for our current 2022-23 registered MGHL athletes may be run by our 2023-24 Coaching staff.
- Currently registered MGHL players that are interested in a Rep team should reach out to express their interest to our next season’s Coaches; all contacts can be found on the following page: 2023-24 Rep Coaches.
- Athletes that have registered with other minor hockey associations (currently or in the past) that are interested in trying out with the MGHL may do so during officially announced tryout dates (TBA); a properly signed OWHA Permission to Tryout Form must be completed prior to tryouts and / or requires a release (on RAMP) from the athlete’s current association / team.

- Other interested players, with no current / past association affiliation, or those that have played with an Ontario-based co-ed league (not OWHA) may tryout during the officially announced tryout dates (TBA); (NO Permission to Skate form is required.)
