Rep Athlete’s Awards Banquet

The MGHL is pleased to announce our inaugural Rep Athlete’s Awards Banquet!



This is an opportunity to celebrate the commitment, hard work, and drive of our competitive athletes as we wind down the current hockey season. Get dressed up, and ready for food, photo booths, music and fun!

EVENT DETAILS

Date: Monday, April 3, 2023 from 5:45 - 9:30 PM
Address: Small Arms Inspection Building, 1352 Lakeshore Rd E, Mississauga, ON L5E 1E9
Attire: Smart Casual / Semiformal / Formal (please no hoodies / tracksuits / jeans)

ATHLETE DROP OFF & CHAPERONES

As we have a large Rep program, and there are venue capacity limitations, athletes can be dropped off at the venue. Parents should not expect to stay; however, there will be a minimum of ONE chaperone (an adult team staff) present for each Rep team.

Note that, as we collect RSVPs, there is a possibility more space will open up; at that point we will contact coaches to include additional team chaperones.

TIMELINE OF EVENTS

5:45 - 6:30: Arrival
6:45: Light Buffet
7:30: Awards
8:15 - 9:30: Dancing & Fun

MGHL AWARDS

The highlight of our banquet will be the presentation of our new MGHL Awards. The Awards will be presented to four athletes on each team that best exemplify the qualities of leadership, growth, F.O.R.C.E., and dedication. Our new Awards are described as follows:

Leadership Award

The recipient of the Leadership Award demonstrates qualities of a successful leader on and off the ice. This player is an excellent role-model to their peers and respectful to all coaching staff and on-ice officials. The player selected demonstrates initiative to collaborate with others to promote an inclusive and positive team environment.

Commitment to Excellence Award (Most Improved / Growth)

The Commitment to Excellence Award is conferred to the player who has strived for excellence through increasing their level of impact on and off the ice this season. This player has demonstrated a high-level of work ethic and commitment to the game of hockey.

Hurricane F.O.R.C.E Award

The recipient of the Hurricane “F.O.R.C.E” Award demonstrates the MGHL’s core values of Focus, Opportunity, Respect, Commitment and Excellence.This player is a role model for their teammates, encompassing the vision of the MGHL to enrich the lives of girls through hockey through exemplifying strong work ethic and outstanding contributions to their team and community.

Dedication Award

The Dedication Award is presented to the player that shows relentless dedication to the sport of hockey. This player demonstrates a “whatever it takes” attitude by attending every practice and game competing with a high level of intensity. The recipient of this award demonstrates devotion to their team through exemplifying strong work ethic.

VOLUNTEERS

We would greatly appreciate some help with venue set up (beginning at 4:00 PM), take down (9:30 - 11:00 PM), and assistance with athlete pick up (beginning at 9:30 PM.) Please let your team Coaches know if you are able to help!
