Hurricane Alert! U18A Summers Wins Championship Game at the Washington Capital Cup!
The U18A Summers Team had an amazing Thanksgiving Weekend in the Washington DC area for the Capital Cup Girls Fest.
Our Mississauga Hurricanes went undefeated with a total of 25 goals for and only ONE goal against as they stormed through the tournament with gale FORCE! The team was excited to meet opponents from across the states; coming in strong in their first matchup, our U18A Summers Team blew over the New Jersey Colonials, with a 2-0 shutout win. Virginia’s St James Hockey Academy could not school our Hurricanes, who maintained their high-level performance for a 4-1 final score. The Philadelphia Little Flyers were caught up in our Hurricanes storm for another blustery shutout victory, 4-0. Heading into the semis, our Hurricanes were a cyclonic presence, icing out the Northern Virginia Ice Dogs in a whopping 12-0 shutout! In the championship game, our Mississauga team finally met the only other Canadian opponent, the Woolwich Wild, but our U18A Summers Hurricanes could not be tamed, claiming another 2-0 shutout victory in the finals to bring home that gorgeous GOLD and the Championship Banner!
